Public transportation plays a critical role in the daily lives of millions of urban dwellers, especially in large cities like Beijing, where the sheer size and separation between residential and work areas result in long, tiring commutes. One of the challenges faced by passengers is the lack of comfort and engagement during these long journeys. This project aims to improve the passenger experience by redesigning the handles in public transportation vehicles. By integrating technology and user-centered design, these new "smart handles" will not only provide ergonomic support but also offer interactive features such as real-time information, entertainment, and safety prompts, turning mundane commutes into more engaging and informative experiences.
